1 · Who we are

MetrIQ is operated by Caltrix Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This notice explains what we collect during the MetrIQ beta, why, and what you can do about it.

2 · How to contact us

If anything here is unclear, or you want to exercise any of the choices in section 14, email support@metriqperformance.com. It is one person reading the mail.

3 · Who this covers

MetrIQ is for adults. You must be 18 or older to apply for or use the beta. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

4 · What we collect

When you apply. Your name, email address, and your answers to the application form: what you're training for, your race month and name, your goal, your experience, the hours you can train, your recent sessions, your phone, your devices, where your workouts are recorded, whether you're managing an injury, how you heard about MetrIQ, and anything else you choose to tell us.

When you use the app.

  • Your training plan and every change made to it
  • Which sessions you marked done, and how hard each felt
  • Your daily check-in answers: sleep, energy, stress, and how you're feeling
  • Any pain or niggles you record, including where on the body and for how long
  • Benchmark test results and the training zones calculated from them
  • Your time zone, so your emails arrive in your evening and not ours
  • Feedback you send, including any screenshots you attach
  • Sign-in records: when you signed in and from what kind of device

Automatically. Standard web server logs from our hosting providers, including IP address, browser type and pages requested.

We don't run analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Vercel Analytics, no session recording, and no advertising or tracking pixel on this site or in the app.

If you connect Strava, see section 8.

Some of what you tell MetrIQ is about your body: pain, illness, sleep and fatigue. We collect it for one purpose, which is to build your training plan and keep it up to date.

We are not a healthcare provider, and MetrIQ is not a medical service. This information is not covered by HIPAA. We don't sell it, and we don't share it for advertising.

6 · Why we collect it

  • To build and adjust your training plan
  • To reply to you, and to send you the emails you've agreed to receive
  • To find and fix problems in the app
  • To decide who to accept into the beta

That's the whole list. We don't use your data to build profiles for advertisers, and we don't sell it to anyone.

7 · Who else can see it

We use a small number of services to run MetrIQ. Each one sees only what it needs to:

  • Tally (Belgium): the application form and its responses
  • Google Workspace (United States): our own mailboxes, where your replies arrive
  • Resend (United States): sends the emails MetrIQ sends you, and holds your address and the contents of each one
  • Neon (United States, AWS US East 2, Ohio): the database holding your plan, your check-ins, your feedback and any screenshots you send
  • Render (United States): runs the MetrIQ app
  • Vercel (United States): hosts metriqperformance.com
  • Strava (United States): only if you connect it — see section 8
  • Garmin (United States): not yet connected — see section 9
  • GitHub (United States): feedback you send also becomes a private issue in our code repository, so it can be tracked and fixed. That issue identifies you by an internal ID, not by your name or your email address.
  • Google Fonts (United States): every page of this website loads two typefaces from Google, which means Google sees the IP address of anyone who visits the site. It receives nothing else, and it is not used in the app.

That's the complete list. There is no error tracking service, no separate backup provider, and no analytics.

8 · If you connect Strava

Connecting Strava is optional. MetrIQ works without it, and nothing happens until you authorise it yourself on Strava's own screen.

What we receive. Your activities as they appear in Strava: the sport, the date and time, duration, distance, pace or speed, heart rate, power, cadence, elevation, and the activity's name and description. We also receive your Strava athlete ID so we know which activities are yours.

How we receive it. Through Strava's API, using an access token you grant us when you connect. Strava sends us an activity when you record one; we do not browse your Strava account and we cannot see anything you have not authorised.

What we do with it. One thing: match your activities to the sessions in your plan, so they are marked done without you having to do it by hand. We show your Strava data back to you and to nobody else.

What we never do with it. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. We do not use it to train or improve any model. We honour the privacy settings you have set in Strava.

How to disconnect. Two ways, either of which works on its own: disconnect Strava in MetrIQ under Profile, or revoke MetrIQ's access in your Strava settings under My Apps and Connected Services. Disconnecting stops any further activities reaching us.

What happens to what we already hold. When you disconnect, when you delete your Strava account, or when you ask us to, we delete the Strava data we hold about you — permanently, and within 48 hours. You do not have to ask twice and there is nothing to fill in.

9 · If you connect Garmin

Garmin is not connected to MetrIQ yet. This section describes how it will work when it is, so you know before you choose to connect it.

Connecting Garmin will be optional, and nothing happens until you authorise it yourself on Garmin's own screen.

What we would receive. Your activities recorded on a Garmin device: the sport, date and time, duration, distance, pace or speed, heart rate, power, cadence and elevation, and the Garmin device model they came from. We would also receive a Garmin user ID so we know which activities are yours.

How we would receive it. Through Garmin's Connect Developer Program API, with your permission, when your device syncs to Garmin Connect.

What we would do with it. Match your activities to the sessions in your plan, so they are marked done without you doing it by hand. Wherever Garmin data appears in MetrIQ, we credit Garmin and the device it came from.

What we would never do with it. Sell it, share it, use it for advertising, or send it to any AI or machine-learning service. No third party processes your Garmin data other than the hosting and database services listed in section 7.

How to disconnect. In MetrIQ under Profile, or by removing MetrIQ in Garmin Connect's connected apps. Either works on its own.

What happens to what we hold. When you disconnect, or ask us to, we stop receiving Garmin data and delete what we hold within 48 hours.

10 · MetrIQ does not use artificial intelligence

This matters enough to say in full, because most training apps now claim the opposite.

There is no AI in MetrIQ. No machine learning model, no large language model, no neural network, no statistical model trained on anybody's data. Not in the plan builder, not in the adaptation that adjusts your plan, not in the session descriptions, not in the emails we send you.

How your plan is actually built. From published coaching science and a set of written rules. Session structures come from matrices a coach designed, phase by phase and level by level. When your plan adapts to what you tell it, that is fully deterministic and rules-based: the same inputs always give the same plan, and every rule is something a person wrote down and can explain. No AI and no large language model decides anything about your training.

Your data trains nothing. Not our software, and not anybody else's. We do not send your training data, your check-ins, your pain reports or your Strava activities to any AI service. We do not use them to train a model, fine-tune a model, or test one. We do not sell or licence them to anyone who would.

If that ever changes we will say so here before it happens, we will ask you first, and you will be able to say no and keep using MetrIQ.

11 · Cookies

MetrIQ sets two cookies, and both are functional:

  • one that identifies your browser so your training stays with you between visits
  • one that records your time zone, so emails about tomorrow arrive in your evening

Neither is used for advertising or analytics, and we set no others. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to beyond the cookies that make the app work.

12 · Where your data is held

Because Tally is in the European Union, your application answers are stored there. Everything else is stored in the United States.

13 · How long we keep it

  • Application answers: kept while the beta runs, then deleted within 12 months if you're not accepted
  • Your account and training data: kept while your account is active, and deleted within 90 days of you asking us to close it
  • Strava data: deleted within 48 hours of you disconnecting Strava, deleting your Strava account, or asking us to — not held for the 90 days above. Raw Strava activities are never kept longer than seven days; after that we keep only the fact that a session was done
  • Feedback and bug reports: kept indefinitely, with your name and email removed after the beta ends
  • Email records: kept as long as we correspond

14 · Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • See what we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Delete your account and your data
  • Stop emailing you, at any time

Email support@metriqperformance.com and we'll do it within 30 days. It's one person reading the mail.

You can also change which emails you get yourself, at any time, under Profile → Email notifications, or from the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any MetrIQ email.

Residents of some states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Texas, have additional rights under state privacy law. Two of those rights, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, don't arise here: we do neither.

15 · Deleting your account

You can delete your MetrIQ account from inside the app, under Profile → Delete account. It asks you to confirm, and then it is done.

Deleting your account removes your plan, your sessions, your check-ins, your pain records, your test results, your email preferences, and anything we received from Strava. It is permanent — we cannot bring it back, so keep your own record first if you want one.

If you cannot get into the app — a lost device, an email address you no longer have — email support@metriqperformance.com and we will do it for you.

16 · Security

Your data is held in services that encrypt it in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the one person operating MetrIQ. No system is perfectly secure, and MetrIQ is early software; we'll tell you promptly if anything happens that affects your data.

17 · Changes to this notice

If this notice changes in a way that matters, beta athletes will be emailed. The dates at the top always show the current version.
